Helmut Fischer GmbH receives TOP 100 seal

Measurement technology specialist is now among the top innovators.

Award-winning innovative strength: Helmut Fischer GmbH has been awarded the TOP 100 seal 2021. This award honours particularly innovative medium-sized companies - and this is now the 28th time. Fischer had previously proven its innovative strength in a scientific selection process.

On behalf of compamedia, the organiser of the TOP 100 innovation competition, innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team examined Fischer's innovative strength. The researchers used around 120 test criteria (further information: http://www.top100.de/pruefkriterien) from five categories as a basis: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success.

Due to the current situation, there was also a special section in this round in which the entrepreneurial reaction to the Corona crisis was examined. The corona crisis is still a major entrepreneurial challenge, Ranga Yogeshwar, science journalist and TOP 100 mentor, made clear. "How do companies react when things they take for granted suddenly break away? When the environment changes radically?" he asked. "True innovators are constantly changing, reinventing themselves and coming up with surprising solutions," said Yogeshwar in praise of the achievements of the TOP 100 companies. "During the Corona crisis, for example, they identified opportunities and came up with innovative processes in record time," he said.

The top management relies on special strategies to promote innovation. This includes: the project innovation teams are constantly shuffled. They are composed not only of classic developers and laboratory managers, but also of interested employees and key customers. "Innovative methods are used and propagated with us all the way up to top management. This already improves their acceptance," says Managing Director Dr Martin Leibfritz. One focuses uncompromisingly on the quality of the products and combines it with a consistent service for existing systems. This has clearly placed Helmut Fischer GmbH in the premium segment.

The company also stands for a good climate of innovation in which ideas can develop. In order for an idea to grow unhindered, there is no fixed format. This freedom pays off: without an explicit request from the management, for example, the employees took care of the realisation of a know-how and innovation platform. Since then, the realisation of new approaches has accelerated considerably. This also helped in the Corona crisis: the metrologists focused early on alternative market segments and intensive dialogue with their customers. Thus, the consistent use of digital media and the provision of webinars and application training led to a noticeably improved order intake despite the Corona crisis.

Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, the scientific director of TOP 100, is impressed by the award-winning medium-sized companies. "The TOP 100 companies have consistently oriented themselves towards being as innovative as possible," he notes.
