Under this motto, Helmut Fischer GmbH organized the Application Day on 29th September 2020 for the first time. Participants visited the companyΒ΄s laboratory in Sindelfingen. The focus was on learning the best way to measure known applications and discuss new and unexplored measurement methods, where the capabilities of Helmut Fischer products could be intensively tested.
The event hosted representatives of well-known organizations from the automotive, electronics, and automation sectors. On the first Application Day, visitors had the opportunity to discuss their application challenges in detail with Fischer experts and test their samples using XRF, coating thickness handheld gauges, nanoindenters, and Scratch testers.
The event followed strict COVID-19 rules. All participants were required to wear face masks and regularly wash and sanitize hands to ensure the best possible protection of all attendees. The Application Day feedback was the following:
βThe event is very well organized. The time slots are well coordinated so that there is enough time to clarify the questions. With the security concept, the lowest possible risk of infection was realized. I can unreservedly recommend the participation in the Application Day!β

With the highly positive response from participants and to accommodate more measurement requests, Fischer intends to host another Application Day in Germany next year. The event will take place in the application laboratories in Berlin and Dusseldorf. So, more participants can be advised about the optimum solutions for their specific measuring tasks and experience innovative measurement technology.
