Paints and varnishes

Innovative measuring technology for quality assurance of paint and lacquer surfaces.

The areas of application in coating thickness measurement, material analysis, and material testing of paint and lacquer surfaces are diverse. For example, in order to protect iron and steal components from corrosion, or to maintain gloss and luminosity under the influence of UV radiation, special paints and varnishes are used that must meet certain quality standards.

With our measuring devices, you can achieve the most accurate and reliable measurement results even with very thin coatings, in measuring positions that are difficult to access, and on uneven surfaces, for example to measure coated pipes or painted car bodies. We have the right measuring solutions for your challenges!

Paints and varnishes

When assessing the quality of coating layers, coating thickness plays a crucial role. Especially when it comes to corrosion protection, for example on steel bridges or ship hulls, the protective coating must have a sufficient thickness to effectively prevent corrosion. In the painting of car bodies or rims, coating thickness is also an important cost factor.

Whether painted, powder-coated, or hot-dip galvanized surfaces – with our measuring instruments you can perform measurements on virtually all coated metals, ensuring that required limit values and tolerance specifications are met. Our application notes give you a detailed insight into some fields of application. Take a look inside!
